On Sunday, May 29, 2022, at 10.30-13.00, within the framework of the established annual celebration of the Green Cultural Routes, a tour of the impregnable Byzantine fortress of Gynaikokastro tooκ place in collaboration with the Center for Environmental Education (CEE) of Kilkis.

The tour began at the Center for Environmental Education (CEE) of Kilkis, from where visitors ascended to the Byzantine fortress and visited its fortified citadel. The tour included short stops in order to take a look at the surrounding area and discover other ancient monuments south of the hill, like the Early Iron Age tomb dating to the 10th-9th c. B.C.
