Byzantine fortress of Gynaikokastro

The barracks (?) is elongated and it is preserved to its foundations. It held an observation post, an element presumed from its unlimited view το the entire plain of Kilkis. It was probably where the permanently installed castle guard lived.

Its use is speculated by its location and floor plan, in the absence of identifiable finds.
